I do find it an extraordinary situation whereby it is regularly bandied about that acceptance of people as they are is partially responsible for the declining interest in the COS, considering Jesus and his gospel message of love and inclusivity of all peoples is the foundations of the church (those following Christ) myself I feel with the right attitude and spirit of hope within us the church can be built back better, it’s not new ways that hindered it but old and tired ways.

Good video. Thanks. The episcopal church is now one of the worst possible churches to attend in regard to totally disregarding the word of God found in the Bible. The episcopal church has taken the term ‘faith alone’ to the extreme with telling it’s homosexual congregation; ‘faith alone is all you need, do whatever you please, God loves you’. It’s good to know so many churches are still opposed to the use of the term ‘gay’ Christian because the homosexual community hijacked the word ‘gay’ to make their sin sound like something it is not and a ‘gay’ Christian still means ‘homosexual’ Christian. Our ‘former’ episcopal church was very solid at one time and we are grateful for our former episcopal minister who although deceived herself did reveal the truth of today’s episcopal church and we were able to move on to find truth elsewhere. Jesus established one (1) Church (not churches) and that is the Catholic Church, the Church of the living God, which is the pillar and bulwark of truth and has remained that way for 2000 years and still stands strong on this and many others issues. We pray for the poor souls left behind in the episcopal church and may God have mercy on their souls. Thanks Be to God.

It seems to me that Church of the Nazarene calling themselves side B was absolutely not mandated by their doctrinal statements. Someone inside the denomination is trying to tip the scales on that one.

I quite easily fit into side a, but I think forcing the will of side a onto anyone who doesn't agree with it wrong. People should come to the realisation themselves

I find it super funny how this channel is clearly homophobic, making several videos about how the ‘gay agenda’ is responsible for the drop in attendance in mainline Churches ( with no evidence to back this up) yet because, as evident by this comment section, the audience is also mostly homophobic, they believe this channel is ‘neutral’ and ‘objective ‘

Sides B, X, A... What happened to right or wrong according to God's Word?

The Salvation Army (my denomination) is officially what you would label Side B, as the only reason we don't have full inclusion is the definition of marriage, although we condem barbaric practices such as "conversion therapy". Many people in the Salvation Army have more "Side A" beliefs, however if the Salvation Army officially made a statement in support of same-sex marriage then this would cause issues for Salvationists in countries with severe punishment for homosexuality. Hopefully we can become a loving and affirming church, the view of the younger generation in the Army in the UK tends to be very accepting, so hopefully as the youth become leadership we can make the change to love and acceptance

As someone who has had to live my entire life as celibate to honor God's command; When I was in my lowest point, and deepest struggle, I felt God say "Anything you include in your identity that is not 'My life is fully surrendered to Christ' is idolatry." Many days are still a struggle, and I often pray for strength to deal with the temptations and loneliness. But because my identity is in Christ alone and for Christ alone, I find strength to overcome my sinful brokenness.

I think side B is pretty accurate. The only thing I would abstain from is using terms like "gay Christian" or "queer Christian". Not really because of the identification problem because it can also be just a neutral description, but because of it's cultural context. These terms are often used by people who claim to be Christian while living a homosexual lifestyle and denying the sinfulness of this. I personally never refer to myself as "gay Christian" or "gay" in general to avoid any misconceptions. But if someone is more comfortable with that, I don't think it's sinful to use it. I think there is a hard line when it comes to homosexual acts. I think when you're at a point where you don't see anything wrong with living an openly homosexual lifestyle, you're doctrine is no longer Christian because it is directly attacking the foundations of Christianity. The terminology and how to best refer to oneself is a question of personal preference and debatable, the sinfulness of homosexual acts is not.

That were quite interesting cases how denominations deal with LGBTQ issues that aren’t affirming. The official position of the Catholic Church is probably best described by side-B since conversion therapy is rejected and the church acknowledges that there are people with same sex attractions btw. I would say the topic of how to minister to LGBTQ people is very important. You can find a lot of homophobic comments on the internet (also below this video) that aren’t in any way charitable towards gay Christians and just view their existence as a bogeyman towards „biblical“ Christianity. That this hate leads to self-doubt and hurting among LGBTQ Christians is self-evident. So it’s really important to have ministries that walk with LGBTQ Christians in love and be on their eye level and not from above - and I don’t see how side x can archive that in any way

Sex or sexuality isn't the issue, it is saying that something that is clearly taught as sinful in the Bible and for 99.9% of Church history is not a sin. Affirming Theology is therefore a complete refutation of God and the Church.

Even being a side "X" and walking the path of righteous is not enough to be acceptable to God without the saving grace of Jesus. Yet these side "A" and side "B" denominations assures there doom.

Thanks for taking the time to help sort out the different views of American Christians on the vexed issue of homosexuality. The Church cannot hope to escape controversies roiling the wider culture and society. Charity in all things.

Once upon a time, the wages of sin was death. Now it's a trip to the doctor. People worship technology and solutions not God and wisdom. You can be as gay as you want (and not die of Aids), demand to be the centre of attention whilst claiming equality and that everyone worship your opinion rather than the simple Word of God. All on pain of a severe gaslighting and ostracism. Proverbs 3:5-6; Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Progress is change. The Lord God is unchanging.

I see Side B and Side X as one on the same with some semantic differences. At the end of the day, most gay people in church aren't going to be coming out at church because of the hateful ideologies man has created around same sex attraction.

As a heterosexual sinner I've had to acknowledge my sin and repent because I've been convicted by the Word!!! We cannot change the Word of our Father but by conviction we need to correct our ways or become celibate or absinate from our conviction! Thank you Father and His Son our Savior!!!

My denomination on average, is between Side A and Side B from my experience. I'm of the ELCA for reference. I don't have a strong view toward either direction myself but I lie somewhere between Side A and Side B. The ELCA doesn't affirm or oppose same sex relations so it's an issue that depends on the congregation and individual discernment. At the end of the day, what matters most is that we are saved by Grace alone and faith alone. God is who matters. the Bible is what matters.

The thing is that same-sex attraction IS NEUTRAL. Its just an attraction. It doesn't dictate what a person does with that attraction. If you are heterosexual., I'm not when you are attracted to the opposite sex do you automatically start dwelling on immoral thoughts? Or do you just acknowledge the beauty of that person. I think most people see the beauty and further thoughts can go astray. I think sometimes people do upon first looking at a person say, "That guy or girl is hot!" But that is not always the case. It may be more so the case if the object of attraction is flaunty some body part. I think of lot of the conversation distorts what same-sex attraction is. It even speaks against same-sex intimacy. So hugging a guy or girl of the same sex is sinful? Or is it only sinful for people who struggle with same-sex attraction? So do you then mean that guys who have same-sex attraction can't express clean and moral expressions of love? This gets ridiculous and unnecessarily homophobic. People with same-sex attraction need intimacy just like everyone else. Intimacy is not sexual. Its a shame people are so sexualized in their thoughts they can't distinguish the euphemism from the actual deed. Proper distinctions are NECESSARY. Don't make it harder for us than necessary. The struggle is hard enough. I tend to be Side X in its full form. I don't like gay Christian because i believe it is an oxymoron. However, it is useful from time to time jsut like Paul claimed to be a Pharisee after becoming a Christian. I see absolutely nothing wrong with same-sex attraction or sexual minority as these describe peoples dispositions.
